Iroshan attended the 25^th anniversary edition of MRO Asia-Pacific, the region’s foremost Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) exhibition, held from the 16th to the 18th of September 2025 at Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre. This milestone edition assembled over seven thousand aviation professionals and three hundred international solution providers representing airlines, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and MRO organisations across the region. High-profile networking relations were established within the General Aviation sector. The visit underscored the considerable technological advancements shaping the global aviation aftermarket, reinforcing the imperative for Sri Lanka to action initiatives in order to remain aligned with evolving international standards.

Iroshan took to the stage at Hilton Colombo as a panel speaker for the Commercial Aviation & Airline Strategies Discussion at the Sri Lanka Aviation Forum 2025, organised by Aviation Voice under the theme of ‘Shaping Sri Lanka’s Aviation Future’. Representing the seaplane industry, Iroshan drew upon his extensive operational experience to articulate the economic case for seaplane utilisation in Sri Lanka’s luxury tourism development, referencing the Maldives’ resort-transfer model and India’s Operation Udan programme, whilst advocating for Sri Lanka’s positioning as a regional Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) hub for aviation technical services.

Dev Kowsala Samajeewa, Founder/CEO of Aviation Voice, invites Iroshan to deliver an informative interview regarding General Aviation / Seaplanes and its utilisation in Sri Lanka. Dev is an aspiring digital content creator owing a renowned presence with his YouTube channel named “Aviation Voice”, a leading aviation related social media platform in Sri Lanka. In this episode, Dev and Iroshan deciphers the concept of ‘General Aviation’ to educate the general public in Sri Lanka.

Soneva’s first acquisition Twin-Otter (DHC-6) aircraft, commonly referred to as “Leema”, had to undergo its ninth Equilised Maintenance for Maximum Availability (EMMA) inspection, in sequence, as per the regulatory authority approved maintenance programme. Iroshan visited the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) of Manta Air, in Kudahuvadhoo Dhaalu Atoll Maldives, where this inspection took place in order to survey and coordinate requirements on behalf of the owner.

N593UR, a DHC-6-300 Twin-Otter aircraft registered in the USA, commenced on a delivery ferry flight from Malaysia to the USA. During one of its stops in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the pilots observed that one of the engines was producing less power on BETA mode (reverse) and a Fuel Booster Pump inoperative. The aircraft was fixed by Ceylon Aeronautical Services (CAS) Maintenance & Repair Organisation (MRO) in Koggala, Sri Lanka, and Iroshan was called in the capacity of a consultant to coordinate relations with the pilots and to overlook compliance of the maintenance carried out in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). This unique aircraft delivery operation garnered significant media attention, with Sri Lankan television featuring a dedicated segment on the maintenance work and international aviation coordination efforts. Iroshan was interviewed and provided expert commentary on the role of CAS in attracting international General Aviation maintenance work.

Soneva, a luxury resort chain in the Maldives, had acquired their second Twin-Otter (DHC-6) aircraft and requisitioned KuleAir to administer the paintwork of this aircraft to accomplish Soneva’s distinguished livery scheme. The requested paintjob was carried out at Ceylon Aeronautical Services (CAS) Maintenance & Repair Organisation (MRO) in Koggala, Sri Lanka, under Iroshan’s direct supervision and guidance on behalf of the client. This livery of Soneva’s Seaplanes has gained popularity amongst seaplane enthusiasts, around the world, owing to its ornamental design features.

Soneva, a luxury resort chain in the Maldives, had acquired their second Twin-Otter (DHC-6) aircraft and requisitioned KuleAir to administer the application of Soneva’s distinguished livery scheme on their newcomer aircraft. While Soneva had already fashioned and finalised the aesthetic aspects of the seaplane’s paint scheme, it was KuleAir’s assignment to ensure that the livery is compliant and approved in accordance with Maldivian Civil Aviation Regulations (MCAR-47).
In this exercise, Iroshan and Buddhi dives deep into each and every aspect of MCAR-47 in order to formulate a straightforward Paint Reference Guide for the abovementioned approval purposes as well as for the use of paint workers on-site. The final renderings of these documents were well-executed by Roshan ; KuleAir’s draughtsman.

Thai Seaplanes (TSP), a startup domestic airline in Thailand, had acquired their first ever aircraft, a Cessna Caravan, from the United States of America (USA). This Caravan was ferried from the USA to Thailand in a ‘landplane’ configuration, for efficiency reasons, and TSP required the aircraft to be re-configured into a ‘floatplane’. As such, TSP commissioned Iroshan to install a set of Wipline 8750A Amphibian Floats into their Cessna Caravan.
